53Macbook Pro vs Macbook Air
This discussion is all over the internet at the moment. I have some different more girly views on the products myself. My fiance however is a Web-dev for Yahoo.com and he always grounds my stylish views into the ground with his vast knowledge of the inner workings.
Like the time I told him he should buy an I-phone. He instead purchased an I-Pod Touch, hacked it and now it has all the same applications and features as the I-Phone at quite a decreased price. The phone he ended up with was an LG Viewity, which has a kick ass camera, better touch capability, and a cheaper price per month and over all. So in the end he got everything he wanted, just in a more tech savvy way.
I was online watching the unvieling of the Mac Air. I was amazed by how smallish it was in design. Something that as a girl has a special place in my heart. I myself hang on to my old Powerbook G5 because it is 12in and not 15 or 17.
I thought to myself that I must have this new Mac. So I immediately send Marco and IM and told him this was the most amazing product ever and I had to have it please please please. I would clean my room and everything! He gave me a firm no.
His reasons were while it was sleek in design, and super cute. This Mac had some serious flaws. Such as disk space and the likely hood I would break it in half opening the poor little thing. The price they were asking were way too much when you consider the limited features of the product. You could buy a plain Mac-book and have more bang for your buck for sure.
So I guess the moral of the story is, just because it is pretty, and super expensive. Doesn't make it the most awesome product in the world. Lesson learned by me from my wonderful code monkey pictured below.
