Jack Russel Training

Your baby Jack

When you bring your baby Jack Russell home from the breeder. Do not be confused or mislead by the cute looks he gives you or the amount of adorable little puppy noises this little beast makes. He is 2lbs of pure evil waiting to get comfortable enough to be unleashed.

You have to be a very special person to own and care for a puppy of this caliber. Although it is a very rewarding job. These dogs are superior in intelligence and unsurpassed in energy and needs.

At first your small Jack Russell puppy needs lots of love and attention. If you work a lot and think you can just get by with being a weekend puppy parent then you are mistaken. Your Jack will become highly depressed and more destructive than ever!

It's best to spend at least 20 minutes doing an activity with your Jack when you come home and make sure he feels well loved even if it is for a small time each day.

Buy him a crate, it will be his own special place away from everything else, especially children if you have any and he can go there if he gets too over excited or overwhelmed by his new house and family.

Within a week, he should be his self completely and the next topic I cover here will be housetraining your Jack. What an adventure this shall be!

The baby Jack below is my personal baby Jackie. The photo was taken by photographer Marco van Hylckama Vlieg.
